From about ten years before his death, up to the present day, Zappa (and his Estate) have been releasing "stuff" for the fans; and it's a lot. Zappa once said in an interview (paraphrasing) that a Musician should identify his group of hardcore fans and strive to create releases to be marketed specifically to them. One could look at this Weasels Ripped My Flesh LP as the very first such effort by Zappa. Currently, his Estate is working on a four CD box set that documents the 1966 Freakout Sessions. I can hardly wait for that one.
Anyway, this album cover is a Pop Art thing and Esprit Decor did a purple matting and yellow frame to match it. It is one of their earliest efforts with my art. This was back when I was framing LP covers. That makes it around 2001.
