Phoenix Picture Framing 13th Floor Elevators Handbill

Check out this 13th Floor Elevators, Vulcan Gas Company, handbill. This was for a December 8, 9 , 10, 1967 series of shows. Art is by Gilbert Shelton. There was also a large poster produced, and both are insanely hard to find, but the handbill seems to be the rarest. Gilbert Shelton went on to great fame as the Freak Brothers Cartoonist. On this poster he is playful and spells out the word: POT in the ridges of the brain.

I was given this item by a fan of the work being done on the Texas Psych Google Group, Blog and Roky CD Club. It was in an old frame and the glass had stuck to the handbill over the years in parts. How to properly preserve and frame this? My friends at Esprit Decor came up with the idea of simply taking out the item and glass and building a new frame around it. Esprit Decor is my Phoenix picture framing connect. They always do outstanding work.

Below here is a video of the same image as a color poster. This was framed by Esprit Decor too. Check out how they cut the design into the matting around it.
