Phoenix Custom Framing by Esprit Decor - Muddy Waters and Velvet Underground

Check out these sweet posters that I just got back from Esprit Decor in Phoenix. First, we have a Muddy Waters at the Fillmore Auditorium in 1966. That must've been an incredible show! Muddy at his peak wailing out for the hippies. I had this one double-matted, with black and green, and then framed in red. The corners were rounded off because this poster had tack holes. This baby was up promoting the gig and somebody took it down I bet.

The next one has always been a personal favorite of mine, it's the Velvet Underground and Iron Butterfly. It appears that Iron Butterfly was headlining but the Velvet Underground were voted the Most Influential Rock Group in History by Rolling Stone Writers a couple years back. The Beatles were second. Anyway, it's a gorgeous, purple, butterfly with silver by David Singer. This was double matted in green and silver with a black and silver frame. Sweet!

I take all my Phoenix custom framing jobs to Esprit Decor. They always do me right. Robert's knowledge of their vast inventory is a great help. That Muddy poster? I would have never thought to round the corners to cover the tack holes! Esprit Decor helps you out like that.

  2. I can see why the "Butterfly" is a fave -It IS beautiful! You gotta wonder about that Iron Butterfly/VU concert though. Which vocalist was the most incoherent?
