Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators - Phoenix Custom Framing Project

Check out this specialty project that Esprit Decor did for me a few years ago. This is The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators LP; front and back covers with picture disc thrown in for good measure. I take all my Phoenix custom framing jobs to Esprit Decor because they help me realize projects like this.

Get this, I had a mono copy of this album and thought that it would be a great idea to get signatures on it. So, I sent it to my friend, Tommy Hall, and he signed it on the back! I was later told that many of these guys will do that because they don't want to "mess up" the front cover. Anyway, I was seriously put out about this until I came up with the idea of getting another LP and framing them together.

So I sent the mono LP around to my friends, the 13th Floor Elevators, and instructed them to sign it on the back. I got: Roky, Tommy, Ronnie Leatherman, John Ike Walton and Clementine Hall. Then I had a picture disc kicking around so I brought all three items to Esprit Decor and they framed it all up for me. It's double matted; green and yellow with a red frame.

Doing this I created a, one-of-a-kind, piece that is simply amazing. It's really a centerpiece of my living room.

This album was the very first rock music LP of psychedelic music. It was released on the legendary International Artists Label, out of Houston, in 1966.
